Configuring Scopes
The users must have the Administration and Manage Scopes permissions to configure and manage the Scope.
To configure the Scopes
- Access the classic Administration portal URL.+ The home page of the Administration portal is displayed.
- Click Administration.
- Click Scopes.
- Click Add Scopes.
The tabs are described as follows:
General tab
It lets you enter a name for the Scope.
Authorization tab
It lets you add the users who has access to the Scope.
The listed users can create connectors and export destinations for the given Scope. The users can also browse the content that is backed-up using the connectors that are associated to the given Scope.
M365 Mail tab
App Registrations
Select the required applications.
The active applications are listed.
Note:
The applications that are selected for M365 Scopes must be assigned the Exchange Administrator role. https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100054157
Other Settings
If required, provide the Impersonation SMTP addresses (required to capture Groups mailboxes, Teams mailboxes, and Public Folders).
User Mailboxes
If required, configure filters. Connectors and export destinations referring to this Scope can be restricted.
Public Folders
Optionally, allow capturing of Public Folders.
Teams Mailboxes
Optionally, allow capturing of Teams Mailboxes.
Note:
Both Public Folders and Teams mailboxes do not have any filtering applied. If a user has access to a Scope that includes Public Folders or Teams then the user can capture and restore ALL content in the Public Folder and Teams mailboxes.
M365 SharePoint tab
App Registrations
Select the required applications. The applications, which are granted with the Admin consent are listed.
Connection Info
Provide the Admin Site Collection URL.
OneDrive
If required, configure filters. Connectors and export destinations referring to this Scope are restricted to access the mailboxes that match the filters.
SharePoint
Optionally, allow capturing of SharePoint. Enabling URL RegExs allows for filtering.
Teams SharePoint
Optionally, allow capturing of Teams SharePoint. Enabling URL RegExs allows for filtering.
