Using Scopes
Scopes can be used to configure Exchange and SharePoint connectors.
To use Scope to add the connector using the Administration portal
- Open a web browser and access the Administration portal URL.
The home page of the Administration portal is displayed.
- Click Administration.
- On the left, click Connectors.
- Click + New Connector.
The New Connector page is displayed.
- On the New Connector page, click Exchange or SharePoint as required.
- On the General page, enter a name for the connector, select the required Connector service computer from the drop-down list, select the required Scope from the Scope drop-down list, and then click Next.
If you select the Scope, you are not required to enter the credentials on the Credentials page. The Scope manages authentication using the M365 apps that are registered for your tenant.
To use Scope to add connector using the Connector service
- On the computer where the Connector service is installed, click Start > Alta SaaS Protection > Connector service.
The Connector service UI is opened, and its Connectors tab is displayed.
- Click Add Connector.
- On the Add Connector of Type window, select Exchange(EWS) or SharePoint/OneDrive as required.
- On the Connector type Specific Settings section of the General tab, select the required Scope from the Scope drop-down list.
- Configure other options and click OK.
To use Scope to add an export location for Exchange and SharePoint restore on the Export Service
- Open the Export Service.
- Click the Export Locations tab.
- Click Add Location.
- From the Add new Export Service Location window, select Exchange (EWS) or SharePoint/OneDrive and click OK.
- On the window, enter a display name for the export location.
- Select the required Scope from the Scope drop-down list.
To use Scope while restoring Exchange and SharePoint data using the Export Utility
- On the Export Utility UI, select Exchange (EWS) or Single SharePoint Site Collection from the Export To drop-down list.
- Click the hamburger icon next to Export To.
- On the Configure export destination window, click the hamburger icon next to Exchange Connection or SharePoint Connection.
- On the window that opens, enter a name for the connection in the Display Name field.
- Select the required Scope from the Scope drop-down list.
- Click OK.
