For the 18th time, Veritas has been recognized as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions.
The first Magic Quadrant in this category was published in 1999. Back then, cloud didn’t exist, applications were still running on physical infrastructure, and backups were mostly stored on tape. The primary reason to restore from backup was due to corruption or human error. Flash forward to 2023, and the onslaught of ransomware attacks have put recoverable data at the center of business resilience.
The rapid shifts in the landscape have required us to innovate and stay aligned with our customers’ needs. In today’s world, data is the lifeblood of any enterprise—it lives in multiple clouds, gets created as quickly as agile teams are created, and requires advanced security from bad actors.
In short, we help our customers remain agile—and it’s a mission we are proud of. Just consider some of our key accomplishments from the past year:
Gartner recognized us for our ability to execute and completeness of vision. We couldn’t agree more with their assessment. We believe this recognition reflects an acknowledgment of our Autonomous Data Management vision, which we first articulated last year. It’s a vision to transform the way our customers manage their data through the reduction of manual processes with a shift to using automation and AI/ML wherever applicable to reduce complexity in every stage of the data management lifecycle. And for us, it’s a journey that’s well underway.
From the provisioning of resources, to the protection of new workloads, to the recovery and/or disposal of data, Veritas is redefining data protection. When you think about our elastic and automated use of cloud resources, malware scanning that is automatically initiated based on the detection of anomalies, or our automated recovery orchestration at scale, these are all capabilities that are available today – and they are just the beginning.
So, while we’re thrilled with this year’s recognition in the Magic Quadrant, we are not going to stop working towards a better future. You can expect continued support for new cloud workloads, an expansion of our partner ecosystem, new enhancements in cyber resiliency, and most importantly, new ways that our broader data management portfolio will deliver on our Autonomous Data Management vision – a vision to create a self-provisioning, self-optimizing, and self-healing environment that will truly enable our customers to gain control of their data in today’s hybrid multi-cloud world.
