After you upgrade an existing InfoScale setup to 7.4, some existing VCS agent resources go into the UNKNOWN state
If you have configured any VCS agents that are delivered as part of the agent packs, the resources for those agents go into the UNKNOWN state after you upgrade the applicable InfoScale product to 7.4. (3948337)
This issue occurs because the VRTSPerl version is updated in 7.4, and the new VRTSPerl MSI replaces the existing VRTSPerl
folder. As a result, the existing .pm
agent files that are not included in the new VRTSPerl MSI are lost.
Workaround: Repair the appropriate agent pack MSI.
To repair the appropriate agent MSI
- Open the Programs and Features window.
- Select the appropriate program name for the agent; for example, VCS agent for EMC RecoverPoint.
- Click Repair, and follow the wizard prompts to complete the operation.
The repair operation restores the missing files, and after it completes successfully, the existing agent configuration begins to function normally.
