Veritas would like to make you aware of the EOL (End of Life) for NetBackup master and media servers running on both HP-UX and AIX; this EOL does not apply to client support for either platform. These operating systems are no longer supported starting with the NetBackup 8.1.2 version released in calendar year 2018. You will need to migrate to a supported version of either a Linux or Solaris platform prior to attempting to upgrade to the targeted release or any later releases.
Veritas is making this change to better align with our customers' current and future platform needs, increasing our speed to delivery while maintaining our high quality standards of the product, and finally decreasing risks associated with potential security concerns.
Veritas has created the NbServerMigration tool to assist customers in migrating from these platforms to a supported platform.
