Viewing the syslog messages on a Windows computer

After redirecting the syslog messages from your Velocity Storage Server, you can verify whether you can receive and view those messages on a Windows computer.

To view syslog messages on a Windows computer

  1. On the Windows computer, go to Kiwi Syslog, Main Menu > Setup > Inputs > TCP Input.

    Note:

    You can receive or display syslogs using a tool that is similar to Kiwi Syslog.

  2. Enter port 1468.
  3. Type the following command to generate a random syslog on the Velocity Storage Server:

    logger -s "syslog test Hard disk xxx"

  4. Check the syslog on Kiwi Syslog.
