Changing the database sources that are assigned to a role
You can change the database sources that are assigned to a role. You may want to extend the permissions of an existing role to include new database sources. Or you may want to restrict an existing role's permissions so that it no longer includes a specific database source.
Note:
You cannot assign database sources to the Velocity administrator or database administrator roles. The administrator roles are not intended to be restricted to specific database sources. Only sandbox user roles can have database sources assigned to them.
If users are signed in to Velocity when you change a role's permissions, the changes do not take effect for those users until the next time they sign in. Users may see errors when they perform operations and portions of the Velocity Cloud Console may not be visible.
To change the sources that are assigned to a role
- From the Velocity Cloud Console, in the left pane, click Database Sources.
- Click Details next to the database source for which you want to edit roles.
- Click Permissions.
- Click Edit next to the role for which you want to add or remove database sources.
- Click Select Sources, and then select the sources that you want to be assigned to this role. Deselect any sources that you do not want assigned to this role.
- When you have finished making changes, click Save.
