Performance issues with upgrades to NetBackup 8.1.2 from NetBackup 8.0 and earlier
You may experience performance degradation during the MSDP pool conversion on upgrades to NetBackup 8.1.2 from NetBackup 8.0 and earlier. The performance degradation is due to the required changes in the fingerprint algorithm for MSDP in NetBackup 8.0. The performance issue is the result of the conversion from MD-5 to SHA-2 hashes.
If you have a large NetBackup environment or systems that are near capacity, additional planning is required to allow for the conversion. More information is available.
