NetBackup SLP Status by SLP
Explore your data center using customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. Use Search to find reports, templates and dashboards across the portal.
Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders.
To view the report, navigate to Backup Manager > Management Reports > NetBackup SLP Status.
This generated report is based on Backup Server(s). Select one or more Backup Servers in the Report Scope to filter the report data.
Currently, the following parameters are available in the Report Scope dialog box.
Table: Report Scope parameters
Parameter | Description | Remark |
---|---|---|
Host Groups | The report can be generated for one or more Host Groups. | For more details on the Report Scope dialog box, see NetBackup IT Analytics User Guide > Generate and maintain reports > Report Scope section. |
All Hosts | This report can be generated for one or more the Backup Servers as Hosts from the list. | |
For Hosts=All Backup Servers | One or more Backup Servers can be selected from this scope to run the report for all Clients and Polices corresponding to the Backup Server(s). | For example: Click Modify. Expand All Backup Servers > Primary Server (if any) > Policies or Clients. Select any node. |
Servers = All Data Domain Servers | Not valid for this report. | |
Attributes | The report can be filtered on specific Host Attributes associated with backup Host(s). |
Note:
If you select multiple conditions in Report Scope dialog box, NetBackup IT Analytics displays collective data with the selected criteria from the database using AND condition.
The following are the scenarios in which the report will be displayed based on the criteria selected in Report Scope dialog box.
Scenario 1 - All Hosts: If any one or more than one Backup Server as Host is selected from parent All Hosts, the data is displayed for the selected Host in the node.
Scenario 2 - All-Backup-Server-Host-Group: You have a host group named as All-Backup-Server-Host-Group which is the parent node. Further, this All-Backup-Server-Host-Group node has Two Backup Servers asServer1andServer2. If you have selected All-Backup-Server-Host-Group, which is the parent node, then the data in the report will be displayed for Server1 and Server2, which are the Backup Servers.
Scenario 3 - All Backup Servers:
If All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the clients.
If any one or more than one Clients from All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the selected Client(s).
If any one or more than one Policies from All Backup Server node is selected, the data is displayed of the selected Policy(s).
Scenario 4 - Attributes: If any one or more than one Attributes is selected from the Report Scope dialog box, the data is displayed of all Backup Hosts for the selected Attribute.
Scenario 5 All Data Domain: This is invalid selection as this report is generated only based on Backup Host(s).
In the NetBackup SLP Status report, click the Primary Server link to view the NetBackup SLP Status by SLP report.
This report lists the Storage Lifecycle Policy (SLP) status for NetBackup jobs, grouped by SLP.
Table: NetBackup SLP Status by SLP
Column name | Description |
---|---|
Primary Server |
This is where the SLP is located. Click the link to drill down to the SLP Status by SLP report. This column lists all the primary servers that have associated SLPs. An SLP may be on the origin primary server or on any of the destination primary servers (in the case of duplication to a remote primary. Click the link to view Host Details. |
SLP Name |
Name of the SLP that is configured on the primary server. |
SLP Version |
Version that is associated with the specific SLP on the selected primary server. See NetBackup SLP Details . |
Oldest Unfinished Image |
The oldest image that is not SLP-complete for any SLP on the associated primary server. This represents the image end date and time, which can be used to identify possible SLP bottlenecks. |
# Clients |
Number of unique clients (link) that are backed up by the specific SLP. Note that if the same client is backed up more than once by the SLP, the client is counted only once. |
# Existing Images |
The total number of images that are for the specific SLP on the selected primary server. This includes both SLP-complete images and SLP-incomplete images. |
Images % SLP Complete |
Percentage of images that are SLP-complete for the specific SLP on the selected primary server, calculated as: Images SLP Complete / Total Existing Images * 100. |
Images SLP Complete |
Number of images that are SLP-complete for the specific SLP on the selected primary server. |
Images Not SLP Complete |
Number of images that are SLP-incomplete for the specific SLP on the selected primary server. |
# Expected Copies |
Total number of image copies for the specific SLP on the selected primary server (includes both complete copies and incomplete copies). |
% Copy Complete |
Percentage of completed copies for the specific SLP and image on the selected primary server., calculated as: Copies Completed / Total Copies * 100. |
Copies Completed |
The number of completed copies that are present for the specific SLP and image on the selected primary server. |
Copies Not Complete |
The number of incomplete copies for the specific SLP and image on the selected primary server, calculated as: Copies not Complete = Total Copies - Copies Completed. |
Total Expected Size |
The size of all copies for the SLP, calculated as: (Number of copies for the specific SLP) * (backup copy size for the specific SLP). Note: The total expected size for all copies is a front-end size and is derived from the number of copies multiplied by the size of the backup copy. The effects of deduplication, compression, and optimized deduplication on the Total Expected Size are not considered in the SLP reports. |
Completed Copy Size % |
Percentage of completed copy size for the specific SLP on the selected primary server. This value is calculated as: Completed Copy Size / Total Expected Size - all copies * 100. This is derived from the aggregate size of all the completed copies for the specific SLP on the selected primary server. |
Completed Copy Size |
Aggregate size of all the completed copies in the database for the SLP and the specific SLP destination. This value is calculated as: (Completed Copy Count for the specific SLP) x (Size of backup copy for the specific SLP). |
Remaining Copy Size |
Aggregate size of all remaining copies that are to be created for the specific SLP and image on the selected primary server. This value is calculated as: (Remaining Copy Count) x (Size of Backup Copy1). |
