Workflow to configure immutable and indelible data

Carry out the following steps in the given order to protect your data by configuring immutability and indelibility.

Configure the following WORM settings on the storage server. The storage administrator configures these settings outside of NetBackup.

  • WORM capable - If the storage unit and the associated disk pool are enabled to use the WORM property at the time of backup image creation, the backup images are set to be immutable and indelible.

  • Lock Minimum Duration - Specifies the minimum allowed duration for which the data for a backup image is indelible. The storage administrator sets this duration on the Logical Storage Unit (LSU) or the Domain Volume (DV), which NetBackup discovers.

  • Lock Maximum Duration - Specifies the maximum allowed duration for which the data for a backup image is indelible. The storage administrator sets this duration on the Logical Storage Unit (LSU) or the Domain Volume, which NetBackup discovers.

Note:
