Preparing a computer in a workgroup environment to deploy the Veritas System Recovery Agent
You must complete certain steps in Windows to prepare a computer in a workgroup environment to deploy the Veritas System Recovery Agent.
To prepare a computer in a workgroup environment to deploy the agent
- On the Windows taskbar, right-click Start, and then click Explore.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options > View.
- On the View tab, scroll to the end of the list and verify that the Use simple file sharing check box is not selected, and then click OK.
- On the Windows Control Panel, click Windows Firewall.
You may need to also click Change Settings if you are running Windows Server 2008.
- On the Exceptions tab, select File and Printer Sharing, and then click OK.
Note:
You should close any open applications before you continue with the agent installation. If the
check box is selected, the computer automatically restarts at the end of the installation wizard.See About deploying the Veritas System Recovery Agent.
