Connecting one storage shelf to an appliance
Note:
The cables in the following diagrams are shown in different colors for demonstration purposes only. The actual cables are black.
To connect one storage shelf to the appliance
- Connect a SAS-3 cable to the left RAID port in the appliance.
Be sure that the blue tab on the cable connector in the appliance port points down.
- Connect the other end of the cable to port A in the top I/O module of the storage shelf.
The blue tab should be on the same side of the SAS-3 cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable in connected .
- Attach another SAS-3 cable between port A on the bottom I/O module and the right port on the appliance RAID card.
The blue tab on the SAS-3 cable should be on the same side of the cable as the SAS-3 label when the cable is connected.
Be sure that the blue tab on the connector in the appliance points down.
Next, connect network and power cables. Turn on the storage shelves and the appliance per the required sequence. Verify that all units function correctly.
