NetApp Cluster-Mode Summary
This report enables Unified Visibility with a high-level summary of the capacities and performance of clusters in your environment. Use this as a starting point for navigating NetApp Cluster environments. Note that all performance numbers are for the last 24 hours, as of the last data collection. Cluster Mode arrays only.
Explore your data center using customizable report templates or by using parts of your IT infrastructure as entry points. Use Search to find reports, templates and dashboards across the portal.
Use the Reports tab to examine the catalog of templates, dashboards and reports - organized by products along with user-created, and system folders. This report is located here:
Capacity Manager > Array Capacity & Utilization > NetApp Cluster-Mode Summary
Cluster Name |
Name of the storage array. |
Remote Cluster Name |
The current name of the peer cluster. |
Associated Objects | |
# Nodes |
Number of configured nodes in the cluster. |
# Vservers |
Number of configured Vservers in the cluster. |
# FC Ports |
Number of Fibre Channel Ports in the array. |
# iSCSI Ports |
Number of iSCSI Ports in the array. Drill down to NetApp Cluster-Mode Array iSCSI Port Utilization. |
# CIFS Shares |
Number of CIFS in the cluster. See NetApp CIFS Summary . |
# NFS Exports |
Number of NFS in the cluster. |
# Disks |
Number of physical disks in the array. |
# Hosts |
Total number of connected hosts via all configured nodes. |
Capacity | |
Internal |
Total Capacity after RAID overhead. Usable capacity refers to capacity that has already been carved into RAID groups. This is the physical, usable capacity after RAID overhead. Dell Compellent: Sum of LUN capacity. EMC CLARiiON: Sum of usable capacity of all Array Groups and usable capacity of all storage pools. EMC Symmetrix: Sum of pool usable capacity + sum of thick LUN capacity. HP EVA, IBM SVC: Sum of allocated capacity of all Array Groups HP 3PAR: Sum of allocated capacity of all Array Groups. The total capacity for all Logical Drives (LDs). EMC VNX: If the embedded CLARiiON is not collecting, this usable internal capacity is the total capacity of all Disk Volumes. HDS: Sum of the usable capacity of all Array Groups. HDS H-NAS: Total capacity of all System Drives. IBM Enterprise: Total capacity of all Ranks. An IBM Rank is logical storage, enabling storage provisioning that is not constrained by the size of an array. One or more arrays comprise an IBM Rank, forming logically contiguous storage. Note that IBM often refers to Arrays as RAID Arrays. IBM Subsystem: Total capacity of all Array Groups. IBM XIV: Configure capacity of the array. NetApp: If raw capacity is greater than 0, this will value is the total capacity of all Aggregates. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
External |
Total Capacity from back-end, external volumes. Usable capacity refers to capacity that has already been carved into RAID groups. This usable external capacity is the total capacity of all the Array Groups, where the array's is_external flag is set to Y. Derived from daisy-chained external storage (back-end systems), this is array group capacity that does not have physical devices (PDEVs) in this storage array. This is the capacity that is allocated to a front-end array. For EMC VNX (CLARiiON) arrays, if the embedded CLARiiON is in use, this value represents the total capacity of all disk volumes. For NetApp, if this is a vFiler, this value represents the total capacity of all volumes. If the raw capacity is 0, this will be the total capacity of all Aggregates. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Allocated |
Total Capacity for array groups and storage pools in the array that are carved RAID. Dell Compellent: Sum of LUN active and replay capacity. EMC CLARiiON: Sum of usable capacity of all Array Groups and consumed capacity of all Storage Pools, minus the free capacity of all Array Groups. EMC Symmetrix: Sum of (pool usable capacity - pool free capacity) + sum of thick LUN capacity HP 3PAR, HP EVA, IBM Enterprise, IBM Subsystem: Sum of the total capacity of all Allocated LUNs. EMC VNX: Used capacity of all disk volumes. HDS: (logical capacity + external capacity - external free capacity) of all Array Groups - virtualized capacity. HDS H-NAS: Used capacity of all system drives. IBM SVC: Sum of total capacity of all Allocated LUNs - virtualized capacity. IBM XIV: Allocated capacity of the array. NetApp: If a vFiler, this is the used capacity of all volumes; otherwise, this is the used capacity of all Aggregates, minus the virtualized capacity. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Available |
Available = Usable Free Capacity + Available Thin Pool Capacity |
Usage |
Usage = Allocated/(Internal + External) |
# Aggr |
Number of aggregates in the cluster. |
Capacity |
Total Capacity = Internal + External |
Used |
Sum of the file system used capacity of all the aggregates. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Available |
Sum of the file system available capacity of all the aggregates. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Usage |
Usage = Used/Available |
Volumes | |
# Volumes |
Number of volumes in the storage system. |
# Flexes |
Number of flex volumes in the storage system. |
# Inf |
Number of infinite volumes in the storage system. |
Capacity |
Sum of the capacity of all the volumes. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Used |
Sum of the used capacity of all the volumes. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Available |
Sum of the available capacity of all the volumes. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
Usage |
Usage = Used/Capacity |
LUNs | |
# LUNs |
Number of logical units (LUNs) in the storage array. Hosts can write to these LUNs. |
Capacity |
Total capacity of the logical units in the array. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
# Allocated |
Number of allocated logical units (LUNs) in the storage array. Sum of the capacity of all the allocated LUNs. If a LUN has a storage path to a host, it is an allocated LUN. These LUNs typically are configured as volumes on the host and are dedicated to an application. |
Alloc Capacity |
Total capacity of the logical units in the array that have paths assigned. Values are stored as KiB in the database and rendered according to your user profile preferences. |
# Unallocated |
# Unallocated = # LUNs - # Allocated |
