Configuring mappings for restores of a distributed applications, clusters, or virtual machines
NetBackup catalogs backup images under the SharePoint front-end server name. To allow NetBackup to restore content to each server in the farm, you must map the SharePoint Central Administration server with the SQL Server back-end servers. Configure these mappings in the Distributed Application Restore Mapping host property on the primary server.
To configure mappings for restores of a distributed application, cluster, or virtual machine
- On the primary server, open the NetBackup Administration Console.
- Select NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Master Servers.
- In the right pane, double-click on the primary server.
- Select Distributed Application Restore Mapping.
- Click Add.
- Provide the name of the application host and the name of the component host.
The application host is SharePoint Central Administration server. The component host is the SQL Server back-end server that needs access to the backup image. See Table: Example entries for a single front-end SharePoint server with a clustered SQL Server back-end server.
