Configuring incremental backups
Use the following procedure for virtual machine backup.
More information is available on creating a policy.
See Configuring a VMware policy from the Policies utility.
To configure incremental backup of a virtual machine
- In the NetBackup policy Attributes tab, select the VMware policy type.
- On the VMware tab, select the VMware backup host.
- Optional: for BLIB, select Enable block-level incremental backup.
- Select Enable file recovery from VM backup.

- Click OK.
- On the Schedules tab, select Differential Incremental Backup or Cumulative Incremental Backup.
- Fill in the Clients tab.
