Installing the NetBackup Remote Administration Console
The procedure shown details how to install the NetBackup Remote Administration Console on a non-NetBackup computer.
To install the NetBackup Remote Administration Console
On the computer where you want to install the remote administration console, do one of the following:
Insert the appropriate DVD that contains the NetBackup software.
On Windows systems with Autorun enabled, the installation starts automatically.
On Windows systems with Autorun disabled, navigate to the DVD directory and run
Browser.exe.Navigate to the location where the downloaded files reside and run
Browser.exe.
Note:
You cannot install NetBackup Remote Administration Console on a computer where NetBackup server software is already installed.
- On the initial screen, select Installation.
- On the Installation screen, click NetBackup Administration Console Installation (x64 only).
- On the Welcome screen, review the content and click Next.
- On the License Agreement screen, accept the agreement and click Next.
- On the NetBackup Installation Type screen, select Install to this computer only and Typical Installation and then click Next.
If an earlier version of the console already exists, you have the following options:
Cancel the installation and remove the earlier version of the console. Then run the new console installation again.
Specify an alternate installation location for the new version of the console.
- On the Ready to Install the Program screen, review the Installation Summary and click Install.
- On the Installation Complete screen, click Finish.
- To open the console, click Start > Programs > Veritas NetBackup > NetBackup Version Administration Console.
Note:
NetBackup includes an administration console for all the supported versions of NetBackup. More information about supported versions of NetBackup is available.
