About Lync On-Premises Archiving
The separately installable Enterprise Vault.cloud Lync Connector application enables you to archive on-premises Microsoft Lync Server instant message content to Enterprise Vault.cloud. The archived Lync content is available for eDiscovery searches and can be accessed from within each participant's Personal.cloud archive. Each conversation or conference is archived as a single item to provide the full context during review.
The Lync Connector application supports archiving of content from Lync Server 2010 and 2013, and from Skype for Business Server 2015. For the latest information on the supported versions, see the Enterprise Vault.cloud Compatibility List.
Lync Connector currently supports the archiving of the following Lync Server content:
Peer-to peer instant message conversations
Conferences, including attachments such as handouts, whiteboards, and polls
Lync Connector does not currently support the archiving of the following Lync content:
Peer-to-peer file transfers
Audio and video
Persistent chat
For more information about Lync Connector and how to archive from an on-premises Lync Server, see the Enterprise Vault.cloud Lync Connector Administration Guide, which is available from the following location:

Before you can configure the Lync Connector application, you must enable the Lync On-Premises Archiving feature in Archive Administration.
See Enabling and disabling the Lync On-Premises Archiving feature.
