Setting the threshold values for disk usage alerts
You can set the threshold at which alerts are sent for high disk usage. The default value is 80%.
Note:
Critical diskspace alerts are sent when disk usage exceeds 90%. This threshold cannot be changed. In some cases, backup jobs may fail before you reach the 90% threshold, so Veritas recommends that you add storage or otherwise address the issue as soon as you see an alert.
To set the threshold value
- Log in to the Flex Appliance Shell.
- Run the following command:
set alerts diskspace-threshold threshold=<value>
Where <value> is an integer between 0 and 89. If you enter 0, disk usage alerts are disabled. Veritas recommends that you do not set this value higher than 85.
- If you have a multi-node appliance, repeat these steps on the other node.
To view the threshold value
- Log in to the Flex Appliance Shell.
- Run the following command:
show alerts diskspace-threshold
