bpcleanrestore — restore clean files from NetBackup Server
SYNOPSIS
-restorecleandata -C client -S master_server [-D destination_client] -t policy_type -p policy [-st "MM/DD/YYYY [HH:MM:SS]"] [-et "MM/DD/YYYY [HH:MM:SS]"]
On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/
On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is install_path\NetBackup\bin\goodies
DESCRIPTION
NetBackup supports malware scanning for unstructured data with supported malware scanners. If a system or data is destroyed or taken offline, you can restore from a last known good image once you scan the data.
Use the bpcleanrestore command to restore clean data from infected backup images. The following operations are performed:
Identify the malware-infected backup images in given date range.
Skip the infected files and restore clean data.
OPTIONS
- -C client
Specifies a client name to use for finding backups or archives from which to restore files. This name must be as it appears in the NetBackup catalog. The default is the current client name.
- -D client
Specifies a destination client. The default is the current client name, not the source client.
Users with administrative rights on the master server can use this option to direct restored files to a client other than the one specified with the -C option.
- -et date
Specifies an end date and time for the restore window. The bpcleanrestore command restores only clean files in the backups or the archives that occurred at or before the specified date and time. Format the date and the time as shown: MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM:SS.
If start date and end date are not specified, then last 24 hours backup taken images are considered.
- -p policy
Specifies the policy for which the backups or archives were performed.
- -st date
Specifies the start and the end date range for the listing. The bpcleanrestore command restores only the clean files from backups or the archives that occurred within the specified start and end date range. Format the date and the time as shown: MM-DD-YYYY HH:MM:SS.
If start date and end date are not specified, then last 24 hours backup taken images are considered.
- -S master_server
Specifies the name of the NetBackup server.
- -t policy_type
Specifies one of the following numbers that corresponds to the policy type. Following policy types are supported.
