About the discovered datacenters

When the gateway is registered with the Application Mobility portal, the datacenters get added and are listed under the Datacenter tab of the portal. Discovery can be performed for the clusters in the datacenters listed on the portal. You can see the discovered datacenter name, location, type, connection status, etc. in Datacenter.

Table: Description for the attributes under Datacenter tab

Attributes

Description

Datacenter Name

Name of the datacenter that is registered through the gateway node.

Location

Physical location of the datacenter.

Type

  • on_prem - The datacenter is located on your premises.

  • cloud - The datacenter is hosted in the cloud service provider.

Connection status

  • Connected - Datacenter is connected through gateway node.

  • Not connected - Datacenter is not connected.

Discovery status

  • Completed - Scanned all hosts mentioned in the hosts file to discover all the clusters and applications.

  • Partial - At least one application is discovered, but application discovery is still in progress.

  • Running - InfoScale cluster discovery is in progress.

Applications

Number of applications discovered on the InfoScale clusters.

Last discovered time

The last time when applications were discovered on the InfoScale cluster.

  1. You can select Name, Location, or Type to view the list of datacenters. Datacenters are sorted and listed depending on the Name, Location, or Type.
  2. If you do not want to view all parameters of the datacenter, click Toggle Selection List. You can choose to view or hide any column.

You can change the datacenter name and location for an on-premises datacenter. For an AWS/Azure cloud datacenter, you can change the name only. Applications on these datacenters can be discovered as follows:

  1. To change the name or location, click the kebab menu (three vertical dots) at the end of the datacenter row.
  2. Select Edit. Change the values and click Save.
  3. To discover Applications on the datacenter, click the kebab menu and select Discover applications.

Removing datacenters

You can delete a datacenter for which no Discovery, Migration, or New Deployment operation is currently in progress. Complete the following process to fully delete the datacenter.

  1. Right-click the kebab menu for the datacenter you want to delete, and click Remove.
  2. Confirm when prompted.

After you delete the datacenter, the datacenter row is removed, and all the associated Applications, Migration Plans, and New Deployment Plans are also deleted. The gateway node configured for this datacenter gets removed automatically as well, and it happens immediately in case the datacenter connection status is 'Connected'. And in case the connection status is 'Not Connected', it gets removed whenever the gateway node starts.
