Snapshot tips
Note the following tips:
In the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume I for help specifying files in the list.
list, be sure to specify absolute path names. Refer to the- list is a symbolic (soft) link to another file, backs up the link, not the file to which the link points. This NetBackup behavior is standard. To back up the actual data, include the file path to the actual data.
The / (root), does not back up the files residing in lower-level file systems. Files in the lower-level file systems are backed up if they are specified as separate entries in the list. For instance, to back up /usr and /var, both /usr and /var must be included as separate entries in the list.
policy attribute is not available for the policies that are configured for snapshots. This option is not available because NetBackup does not cross file system boundaries during a backup of a snapshot.
