Configuring a storage lifecycle policy for NetBackup CloudCatalyst
A storage lifecycle policy (SLP) manages the backup jobs and the duplication jobs from a MSDP storage server to a MSDP cloud storage server. The backup and duplication jobs can also be run manually from the NetBackup Administration Console or by using the bpduplicate command.
This procedure assumes that the preferred use case is being configured. The preferred use case is described in the following topic:
If an SLP is used, it must contain a Backup operation and a child Duplication operation.
Configuring a storage lifecycle policy for deduplication to the cloud
- The first operation must be a Backup operation. In the Storage unit field, select the storage unit that was created for the MSDP storage server.
- Create a second operation that is a child of the Backup operation. The second operation must be a Duplication operation. In the Storage unit field, select the storage unit that was created for the CloudCatalyst storage server.
