Use of Virtual Instance Converter (VIC) hosts on Windows (x64) having NetBackup 8.1 is not supported for NetBackup 8.0 and earlier clients
NetBackup 8.1 BMR does not support direct virtual machine (VM) creation (Physical to Virtual) using Virtual Instance Converter (VIC) hosts on Windows (x64) having NetBackup 8.1 for NetBackup 8.0 and earlier clients. This issue occurs because NetBackup Bare Metal Restore functionality is not supported with Virtual Instance Converter (VIC) hosts having NetBackup 8.1 version.
Workaround: For a successful direct virtual machine (VM) creation (Physical to Virtual) operation, Veritas recommends that you use Virtual Instance Converter (VIC) hosts which have either NetBackup 8.0 or earlier or NetBackup 8.1.1 or later versions.
