NetBackup 8.2 and RHEL 8 installation issue
After you provide the NetBackup license key during the NetBackup 8.2 installation on RHEL 8, you receive the error shown:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpminlicense: error while loading shared libraries: libnsl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (127)
This issue results from the upgrade of the libnsl.so.1
library by Red Hat. To resolve this installation issue, do one of the following:
- Before you start the NetBackup installation, log into the RHEL 8 server with root credentials and install the
libnsl
library. - Log into the RHEL 8 server with root credentials and install the
libnsl
library. Then reinstall NetBackup.
