Configuring a virtual network name
Review the information on how to create a resource, bring it online and link a resource.
See the Cluster Server Administrator's Guide.
To configure a virtual network name
- Create a Lanman resource with the virtual server name.
- Specify the attribute IPResName. The value of this attribute should be the IP resource name of the service group.
Resource names are case- sensitive in Volume Replicator.
- Create a dependency with the Lanman resource as the parent resource and the IP resource as the child resource.
- Enable the Lanman resource and bring it online. This will bring the virtual network name online.
- Create a dependency with the Oracle resource as the parent resource and the Lanman resource as the child resource.
- Remove the dependency between the Oracle resource and the IP resource.
