Support for multiple cache areas, live performance charts, and more SmartIO tasks
Using Veritas InfoScale Operations Manager 7.1, you can configure multiple VxFS cache areas on the same system with SmartIO. You can also configure separate cache areas for Read and Writeback operations for the same filesystem. You can now specify the cache name.
The following SmartIO operations are now supported from the Management Server Console.
Enable or disable SmartIO caching for specific mountpoints, volumes, or applications.
Load files to a cache.
Pin tablespaces or files to a cache or unpin tablespaces or files from a cache.
The Modify Cache menu is also updated in this release to allow you to specify a new cache size. The Modify Cache panel now displays the current cache size and the maximum available cache size.
SmartIO impact charts are also enhanced in 7.1. You can view live and six-hourly impact charts for SmartIO caching on Linux hosts. This is in addition to viewing charts for a day, week, month, or year. Volume and Disk level charts are now enhanced to display total reads, total writes, and average response time (with separate charts for average read latency and average write latency).
