Veritas NetBackup™ Commands Reference Guide
- Introduction
- Appendix A. NetBackup Commands
IPV6 updates
NetBackup does not support the use of IPv6 addresses where you can specify a host name (for example: 2001:db8:85a3:8d3:1319:8a2e:370:7348). If a host name is required, NetBackup does not support the use of an IPv6 address. This rule remains true even though host names can resolve to IPv6 addresses through DNS, local hosts files, or other means.
Only the NetBackup commands and options that are shown let you enter an IPv6 address:
bpclntcmd -ip option.
manageClientCerts -IP option.
bpcluster VIRTUALADDRESS
csconfig cldinstance any references to host name or IP address.
nbhostmgmt -host option.
bptestnetconn -H option.
Only the bp.conf parameters that are shown allow IPv6 addresses. All other parameters follow the same rules as command line options:
PREFERRED_NETWORK
RESILIENT_NETWORK
VXSS_NETWORK
THROTTLE_BANDWIDTH
