NetBackup and vCloud Director support
NetBackup 8.2 does not support vCloud Director versions before 9.0. If you have a pre-9.x vCloud Director version you must: upgrade to vCloud 9.0, 9.1, and 9.5 or use a NetBackup 8.1.2 or older server as the backup and the recovery host with the vCloud Director.
When building the VIP query for the VMware policy with a vCloud Director version the master does not support, do the following when creating the policy:
- In the NetBackup host to perform automatic virtual machine selection drop-down on the Clients tab, specify a host with a NetBackup version that supports the vCloud Director version. A NetBackup 8.2 master server cannot enumerate possible values for pre-9.x vCloud fields.
- In the Query Builder, you must manually enter the name of the VM requiring protection in the Value(s) field. Select the other values in the Query Builder as required for your policy.
- Save the query and test it with the Test Query option.
When you restore VMs, ensure that you select a recovery host that supports the vCloud Director version for the VM that is restored.
