Steps to create an object group
Create an object group to define the combination of assets, application servers, or protection plans that is available to users that have permissions for that object group.

1 | On the left, click . | |
2 | Click the Object groups tab and click . | |
3 | Provide the name and description for the object group. | You may want to include any keywords that describe the type of assets in the group or the region the assets reside in. |
4 | Configure any assets that you want to add to this object group. | See Selecting the assets for an object group. Add the assets that you want users to be able to view or manage, if users have the appropriate RBAC role or permissions. For example, add the assets that you want a workload administrator to manage protection or recovery for. |
5 | Configure any application servers that you want to add to this object group. | See Selecting application servers for an object group. Add the application servers that you want users to be able to manage, if users have the appropriate RBAC role or permissions. For example, add the application servers that you want a backup administrator to manage. |
6 | Configure any protection plans that you want to add to this object group. | See Selecting protection plans for an object group. Add the protection plans that you want users to be able to manage, if users have the appropriate RBAC role or permissions. For example, add the protection plans that you want a backup administrator to manage. Workload administrators can view these plans and subscribe assets to these plans. |
7 | Preview the assets, application servers, or plans that you configured for the object group. | |
