Launching the system disk image instance
After registering the system disk as a private image in Orange Recovery Engine, you need to launch the system disk image instance and attach the data disk to the system disk. For Resiliency Manager and IMS, you need to attach the data disk image that you had downloaded earlier. For Replication Gateway, you attach an extra disk of minimum 50 GB.
To launch the system disk image instance
- In the Orange Recovery Engine management console, go to Image Management Service.
- Select the private image that you had registered in the earlier step.
- Click Apply for Server displayed next to the name of the private image.
- On the next page, select the billing mode that suits your requirements.
- Ensure that the desired region and Availability Zone are selected.
- Specify the type and select a flavor that matches the system resource requirements for various Resiliency Platform components.
Note:
Select a flavor which is KVM hypervisor based for Replication Gateway, as based hypervisor is not supported.
For more information on hypervisor flavor, seehttps://docs.prod-cloud-ocb.orange-business.com/en-us/usermanual/ecs/en-us_topic_0035470101.html
- In the Disk section, select High I/O or Ultra-high I/O for the system disk. It is strongly recommended to select Ultra-high I/O for the disk.
- Ensure that the required image name is selected in the drop down list for image name.
- Click Add data Disk and then select High I/O or Ultra-high I/O for the data disk.
- Do one of the following:
For Resiliency Manager and IMS:
Select Create Disk from Data Disk Image.
If you do not have the data disk image, you need to create one:
If you already have a data disk image:
Select the data disk image for Resiliency Manager and IMS:
Data disk for Resiliency Manager:
vrp-disk2.qcow2
Data disk for IMS:
ims-vanilla-disk2.qcow2
Enter size of the disk. 40 GB is the minimum disk size.
For Replication Gateway, you need to attach an external disk:
Enter size of the disk. 50 GB is the minimum disk size for the disk to be attached to the Replication Gateway system disk.
- Select the VPC that you want to use for the deployment.
- Enter the value for Security Group and NIC. It is strongly recommended not to assign any public IP or EIP to any of the Resiliency Platform appliances.
- For Password, enter a value that matches the password format specified by Orange Recovery Engine. You cannot skip this step as this is a required field but Resiliency Platform does not use this password. Resiliency Platform asks the credentials at a later stage, while configuring the components.
- Enter a name for the ECS.
- Verify the details displayed under Current Configuration and click Next.
