Security meter and configuration on an Appliance dashboard

You can view the security score of an appliance. A graph displays the score trend of your appliance for the last 30 days.

The security control settings are displayed after the graph. The Security meter displays information about how the security score is calculated. For more information, click the How is my score calculated link.

If the security settings data is not received in last 24 hours, you may be viewing older data.

The security controls are grouped under two categories:

  • Access and Authorization

  • Compliance and Alerts

Access and Authorization

The security settings that are related to access and authorization of the appliances are displayed.

HTTPS Access Control

Restricts the access to the appliance over HTTPS, ensuring secure web communication.

SSH Access Control

Restricts the access to the appliance through SSH for secure remote system management.

Lockdown Mode

Activates a secure state where only essential functions are allowed for security.

Lockdown Mode State

Describes the current configuration of lockdown mode.

Note:

The count of WORM instances on the appliance is displayed.

External Certificate

Specifies whether an external certificate is used for host communication.

Secure Password Policy

Enforces a strong password policy to enhance security.

Smart Card Authentication

Uses the smart cards or digital certificates for user authentication.

Single Sign On

Allows the users to authenticate and gain access to multiple systems without entering the credentials again.

Hostadmin Multifactor Authentication

Specifies whether multifactor authentication is configured for the appliance shell.

Multifactor Authentication

Specifies whether multifactor authentication is configured for the appliance console.

Multifactor Authentication Enforced

Specifies whether multifactor authentication is mandatory for the appliance console.

BIOS Password Change State

Specifies whether the BIOS password is changed from the default password.

Compliance and Alerts

The security settings that are related to compliance of standards and settings for system monitoring and alerts are displayed.

Displays a warning or information during sign-in for legal or security notices.

Log Forwarding

Forwards the system logs to remote servers for centralized logging and monitoring.
