Unable to select the desired media server

In the Add Storage Server wizard screen, the user selects a media server in the drop-down menu that will become the CloudCatalyst storage server.

If the media server that you want to use does not appear in the drop-down menu, check the following:

Media server version

The NetBackup media servers that you use as CloudCatalyst storage servers must be the same NetBackup version as the master server.

Host name-based security certificate

This is applicable for media server versions 8.0 to 8.1.2 only.

If the media server that you want to use does not appear in the drop-down menu, make sure that a host name-based security certificate has been deployed for that media server. Use the following procedure to deploy a certificate if needed.

  1. /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpnbaz -ProvisionCert host_name

  2. Restart the services on the media server after generating a certificate.
