Maintenance tools

You need mechanical tools to work with the hardware and diagnostic tools to assess system functionality as shown in the following table.

Tool

Function

NetBackup Appliance Web Console

Shows the real-time operation of systems and components.

NetBackup Appliance Shell Menu

Checks the running status of the device.

Thermometer

Measures the temperature of the equipment room.

Hygrometer

Measures the humidity of the equipment room.

The following list describes the physical tools that are required for work with the hardware.

  • Phillips (cross head) screwdrivers (#1 bit and #2 bit)

  • Needle nosed pliers

  • Anti-static wrist strap, gloves, and conductive foam pad (recommended)

  • Cable ties
