Deploying the virtual appliance in OpenStack through OpenStack dashboard
To know about virtual appliance deployment in Veritas Resiliency Platform:

You can deploy Veritas Resiliency Platform virtual appliance through OpenStack dashboard or Horizon using a virtual machine image. This image is used to create virtual machine instances in the cloud. This image can be in QCOW2, or VHD image formats.
To deploy Resiliency Platform in cloud through OpenStack dashboard
- In OpenStack dashboard, select Create Image under Projects > Compute.
- Provide a name for the image. Browse and select the first image file.
- Select the format of the image and click Create Image.
- Once the image is saved and the status of the image changes to Active, click Launch to create the Resiliency Platform virtual appliance instance.
- On the Details tab in Launch Instance page, in the Instance Name field, enter a name for the Instance.
- In the Volume size field, enter the size of the disk. Consider the disk size recommended for different virtual appliances in the system resource section.
- In the Flavor field, select a flavor to assign the recommended resources to the instance.
- In the Instance count field, enter the number of virtual machines required.
- On the Network tab, select the preferred private network to the instance.
- On the security groups tab, select the appropriate security group.
- Click Launch. The instance starts on a node in the cloud. On the Instances page, the power State changes to Running after a successful Launch.
- In case of Resiliency Manager or IMS, once the instance gets launched, use Create volume to attach the other QCOW2 file to the instance. Associate a floating IP address that you want to associate with the instance and then soft reboot the instance. This step is required to enable communication between the node and other public networks.
- If you want to configure the role of Replication Gateway on this virtual appliance, attach an extra disk of 50 GB. Note that the cinder volume is initialized during the product bootstrap process and it may result in deletion of data that may already exist on the disk.
- Click the name of the instance and go to the console to configure the virtual appliance component.
