Cable connection types:

  • copper = a standard copper cable or a Direct-Attach copper cable with RJ45 connectors

    Also known as a Twinaxial cable or a Twinax cable, a Direct-Attach copper cable uses copper connectors. The copper connectors are used to connect the cable to the SFP+ sockets in the 10Gb Ethernet cards.

  • optical = A fiber optic cable
