Validating the virtual machine disk restore file
This topic describes how to use the NetBackup nbrestorevm command to validate the file that describes the virtual machine disk restore parameters.
This task is part of a larger process that describes how to restore an individual VMware virtual machine disk or disks.
See Restoring VMware virtual machine disks by using NetBackup commands.
To validate the virtual machine disk restore file
- Invoke the following NetBackup command:
On Windows: install_path\NetBackup\bin\nbrestorevm - validate -restorespec filename
On UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbrestorevm - validate -restorespec filename
- Examine the command output. If the output indicates problems, edit the file to fix the problems.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the file is valid.
- Continue to the next task in the individual virtual machine disk restore process.
See Restoring the virtual machine disk or disks by using the nbrestorevm command.
