At Veritas, we believe we can all play a part in making the world better place. And that’s why we encourage everyone who works here to get involved in our corporate responsibility initiatives.
We make a dollar-for-dollar match for employee donations to relevant non-profit organizations (up to $1,000 per employee and $5,000 per VP and above each calendar year). All donations made globally are translated into dollars that Veritas donates to approved, eligible charities.
Our Dollars-for-Doers initiative sees us make a $15 donation for every hour of volunteer service that an employee contributes.
During FY17, employees donated a total of $320,660 USD to the non-profit charities of their choice. Veritas’ match of eligible charitable donations and volunteer hours in FY17 came to $332,379 USD, bringing our total company donations to more than $653,000 USD.
Our GIVE Employee Resource Group develops relationships with the communities where we operate and raises awareness of causes that are important to our employees and to those communities.
Giveback is embedded in our external and internal corporate events. For example, at a three-day internal conference, half a day was spent volunteering for the Enable Community Foundation. Employees teamed up to build prosthetic hands from 3D printed components to donate to children who have lost limbs.
Veritas employees can take up to five paid days off annually to volunteer for charitable activities that support Veritas’ corporate responsibility initiatives.
In FY17, 953 employees (approximately 13 percent of our total permanent workforce) volunteered for a total of 12,722 hours.
In April 2017, Veritas launched a global product donation program in partnership with TechSoup. This organization provides eligible non-profits and organizations in the United States and over 40 countries around the world with discounted software, hardware, services and training that enable people to work toward a more equitable world.
