The remaining hours until the start of Exchange day are dedicated to Enterprise Vault backups.
If you have enabled manual archiving, or you are running PST migrations, you must clear backup mode from the vault stores and index locations before the Exchange core hours begin at 08:00. If you do not use manual archiving, and there are no PST migrations, the Enterprise Vault backup window can extend into the Exchange core hours if necessary.
