Enterprise Vault aware agents such as those offered by Veritas Backup Exec and NetBackup can help you to manage many aspect of Enterprise Vault backups including the following:
Setting backup mode
SQL database backups
Vault store backups
Index location backups
Clearing backup mode
Veritas Backup Exec and NetBackup can also distinguish between open and closed vault store partitions which helps you to back up only open vault store partitions during your daily backups for example. Backup Exec and NetBackup can also distinguish between open and closed index locations.
