Challenge
Tongwei Group’s IT infrastructure runs on a private cloud platform deployed on premises. To further improve business continuity, provide 24x7 support for fast developing and innovative business applications, Tongwei was eager to build a disaster recovery solution.
Solution
Tongwei chose AWS as a resource pool for its disaster recovery solution, and chose Veritas Resiliency Platform as the technology for low-latency data replication and disaster recovery management. The solution ensures a fast built, low cost, and reliable business-level disaster recovery solution that bridges multiple cloud technologies.
Outcome
The new solution ensures 1-click migration or failover from its on-premise private cloud to the AWS public cloud – with an SLO of 5 min RPO, 60 min RTO for a single business application. By using the ‘Pilot Light’ disaster recover model enabled by Veritas technology, Tongwei can avoid paying for unutilized cloud computing resources. Veritas technology also enabled a 1-click fire drill feature by calling the AWS snapshot function in a quarantined environment, thus preventing any interruption to the production environment.
