New Instant Access features
NetBackup 8.2 includes the following new features related to Instant Access:
Restore and download files and folders using the Instant Access feature.
NetBackup supports restore and download of multiple files and folders using the Instant Access feature. This feature enables increased accessibility of data to users.
Create virtual machine using the Instant Access feature.
NetBackup supports vMotion when you create a virtual machine using the Instant Access feature. You can migrate an instant access virtual machine automatically and release resources from a storage appliance.
Protect Universal Share data.
NetBackup protects your data on a Universal Share by backing up the data and managing the backups. You can instantly access the backups with NetBackup Instant Access APIs. For information about NetBackup APIs, see the following website:
