NetBackup status code: 7207
Explanation: Failed to retrieve the nbinstallagent command output from the remote host.
This issue can happen if the NetBackup precheck or upgrade processes take longer than expected or do not finish. By default, pre-check operations and client upgrade operations are given 30 minutes to complete, and media server upgrade operations are given 45 minutes to complete.
Recommended Action: Review the media server admin
log as well as the client nbinstallagent
log at the following locations:
On Windows: install_path\NetBackup\logs\admin\root*.log
.
On UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/admin/root*.log
On Windows: install_path\NetBackup\logs\nbinstallagent
On UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/nbinstallagent
Validate connectivity between the target host and the staging host. Note that the staging host may be the master server or a media server that is named in the deployment operation.
To configure the amount of time VxUpdate waits for processes to finish before reporting 7207 as the job status, you can define the TIMEOUT_SECONDS option. The following values can be defined in the NetBackup configuration on the master server:
VXUPDATE_CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT_SECONDS | This value controls how long precheck operations and client upgrade operations are allowed to take, in seconds. The default value is 1800 (30 minutes). It can be decreased to as little as 600 (10 minutes) or increased to as much as 3600 (60 minutes). |
VXUPDATE_SERVER_READ_TIMEOUT_SECONDS | This value controls how long server upgrade operations are allowed to take, in seconds. The default value is 2700 (45 minutes). It can be decreased to as little as 600 (10 minutes) or increased to as much as 5400 (90 minutes). |
For details on how the bpsetconfig command can be used to add values to the NetBackup configuration of a master server, see the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.
