Adding Entra ID (Azure AD) connectors
Use the following procedure to add a Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) connector using the Administration portal.
To add a Microsoft Entra ID connector
- Access the Administration portal.
The home page of the Administration portal is displayed.
- Click Administration.
- On the left, click Connectors.
- Click + New Connector.
- Click Microsoft Entra ID.
Do any of the following:
Play the video that guides you through the Entra ID connector creation process. After the video ends, close the page. This action directs you to the New Connector page where you can proceed to create a connector.
Click Skip if you prefer not to watch the video. This action directs you to the New Connector page where you can proceed to create a connector.
Select the Don't show this again check box to avoid seeing this page when you create subsequent Entra ID connectors.
- On the New Connector page, configure the general settings such as the name, the storage to store the backed-up data, and so on.
In the Connector name field, enter a name for a backup job (connector).
The Type field displays the connector type.
In the Microsoft Entra ID File Stor drop-down list, the Entra ID Stor is selected by default. If you want to change the Stor or if the Stor is not available, contact Veritas Support.
From the Microsoft Entra ID Object Stor drop-down list, select the structured database.
The Machine field displays the Connector service to host this backup job (connector). If required, you can select the appropriate one from the list.
This step is optional. Enable the Enable email notification option if you want to receive notifications when the set error count exceeds during the backup process. Enabling this option adds an additional tab, Email notification, to the job creation workflow.
Do the following on the Email notifications tab:
Click Enable this feature > enter the email address.
Select the Send an email when error count exceeds check box > enter the number.
Click Next.
- On the Capture scope page, click Next.
To know the objects backed-up by the Entra ID connector,
- On the Credentials page, perform the steps in the following order:
Assign the Microsoft 365 apps.
For more information on assigning apps,
See Assigning apps to connector.
Note:
The assigned apps are in an inactive state.
Activate the assigned apps by manually granting the admin consent or using the App Consent Grant Utility.
For more information on granting an admin consent:
See Granting admin consent manually.
See Granting multiple admin consents using the App Consent Grant utility.
Once the apps are active, click Next.
