Restore specific Records to the same or another organization
To restore particular Records in the destination organization, follow the steps outlined below. All linked Files and Attachments will also be restored.
To restore specific Records to the same or another organization
- Access the Veritas Alta™ SaaS Protection Administration portal.
- On the home page, click Content.
- On the Content page, select the required Salesforce data Stor from the upper left drop-down list.
The associated recovery points are available in the drop-down list next to the selected Stor.
The latest restore point is selected by default. You can select the required restore point from the drop-down list if required to change. Always select the restore point marked with a green tick.
Note:
To set the other restore point as the default one, click the restore points drop-down list > Specific restore point link > on the Set to specific restore point page, select the restore point to be set as default, and then click Set.
Note:
You can also use the Filter by name field to view specific objects. Also, you can select the All check box to view all objects (including non-restorable objects).
The left pane lists all Objects and the right pane lists the Records within the selected Object.
- On the left pane, select the Object you want to restore.
To restore only attachments, select the Attachment folder.
To restore Files, Libraries, and Folders, select the ContentWorkspace folder and then select the required Library on the right pane.
When restoring ContentDocument or ContentWorkspace object records using the Restore wizard, it is imperative to enable the Restore Parent Object Records option under the Advanced settings. Enabling this option ensures that the selected files within a library are restored into their respective folders, maintaining the original file and folder hierarchy from the backup. The Child Object Records are implicitly analyzed and restored. Use this option only while restoring ContentDocument object records. Contact the Veritas Support before enabling this option.
To restore documents, select the Document folder.
- Click Restore at the upper right of the page.
After you click Restore, you are directed to the Restore page. This page displays the Restore Mode as Data, the Restore point, and the name of the destination Salesforce organization in the Restore to Salesforce organization drop-down list. The Restore to Salesforce organization drop-down list displays the organization corresponding to the selected data. In case you want to restore the data to a different Salesforce organization, do the following:
Add a Salesforce connector for that organization.
See Adding connectors for Salesforce Data and Metadata.
Once the connector is added, select the name of that Salesforce organization from the Restore to Salesforce organization drop-down list.
- (Optional) Expand the Advanced options and select the Overwrite existing records check box to overwrite the content at the target organization.
Note:
If this option is not selected, the restoration of the existing objects is skipped.
- Click Next.
All the associated Records, Files, and Attachments are displayed.
- Click Next.
You can view a nested hierarchy of Records. This view will help you identify which Records in the related nested child Objects will be restored. The duration of the restore process may vary depending on the number and size of Records and the related nested child Objects.
- Click Next.
- On the Email notifications page, enter the email addresses of the users who need to be notified on the completion of the restore operation.
- Click Next.
- Verify the details and click Restore.
The restore operation gets queued and starts once the Analyze operation finishes.
Depending upon the amount of the data selected for restoration, the required time can vary.
After the restore is initiated, you can go to the Restore dashboard to view the restore progress.
See Restore job statuses.
- Navigate to the destination to confirm that the restore has happened successfully.
