3) Download Results
If the total size of the search results is less than 1.0 GB, this section contains the results of your request submission. If user-selected results are in eml format, the eml files are enclosed within compressed files. AdvisorMail collects 500 eml files into each compressed file, except the last compressed file. If user-selected results are in PST format, the download files are PST files. Each PST file contains 500 emails, except the last PST file.
Key points about the files you can download:
You need to use Outlook 2003 or higher to open .pst files. Earlier versions of Outlook cannot read the AdvisorMail created .pst files. Please check the Microsoft User Documentation for the steps on how to open a .pst file in Outlook, at www.microsoft.com.
The files are password protected with the password that you specified in the data request. If you do not have this password you cannot access the files.
Upon downloading files, please do the following immediately:
Ensure you can access every file. If there is a problem with a file, the sooner you discover it, the better. Data Requests are stored on the AdvisorMail servers for ten (10) business days and then they are deleted. If you discover a bad file after the 10 days, the request must be resubmitted in AdvisorMail.
Since passwords can be forgotten, you may want to transfer all the files to a location where password protection is not necessary.
