Add Teams chat connectors
To know the backup capability of the Teams chat connector, See Supported SaaS workloads and backup capabilities.
You can set up an individual connector for each backup requirement, like one-on-one chats, group chats, and channel conversations. Alternatively, you can configure a single connector that covers all your backup requirements.
What are the Teams Export API filtering? | Starting with the 2.33.1 release, Cohesity Alta SaaS Protection supports Teams Export API filtering. This feature retrieves only sent messages for each user by the API, then combines them to create a complete view of both sent and received messages. This method reduces API costs while still offering a full conversation overview. |
Conditions for Teams Export API filtering to work | The new enhancements in the Teams Chat connector for using Export API filtering are applicable only with the following conditions:
For all conditions other than those mentioned above, Export API filtering will not be applicable, and the backup will be performed without API filtering, following the same method used in previous releases. |
Messages for users deleted before the backup will not be captured. |
You can use the following procedure to add a Teams chat connector.

The home page of the Administration portal is displayed.

Important: To use Microsoft 365 app registrations mode for Teams chat connector, you need to have the AddOnM365TeamsChat SKU. Export API filtering benefits can be availed only in this mode of authentication.
