How to set up the Velocity Storage Server
The Velocity Storage Server can be hosted on one of the following:
A virtual machine in your data center.
The Veritas Velocity physical appliance.
The setup steps are different depending on which hosting method you choose.

Use the following steps to set up the Velocity Storage Server on a virtual machine.

Step 1 | Confirm that the appliance hardware is installed correctly and powered on. Refer to the Veritas Velocity 7330 Appliance Hardware Installation Guide. |
Step 2 | Review the appliance initial configuration requirements. |
Step 3 (Recommended) | Change the admin account password. See Changing user passwords on the Velocity physical appliance. |
Step 5 | Run the hardware self-test. |
Step 6 (Optional) | Perform any required network port bonding and VLAN tagging. See Creating a network interface bond (NIC bond) on the Velocity physical appliance. |
