Required and optional ports for Velocity
Different ports are used for different components of Velocity. Review the port recommendations for each component.
See Ports for the Velocity Storage Server.
See Ports for the Velocity Cloud Console.
See Ports for the NetBackup Client.
See Ports for the Velocity Client.
If you use a firewall, ensure that your firewall settings allow inbound connections to both a physical and a virtual Velocity Storage Server on the following ports:
Note:
Velocity does not support a network address translation (NAT) device on the network that is between the supported database source hosts and the Velocity Storage Server.
TCP 8443 (for Velocity services)
UDP/TCP 2049 (for NFS)
UDP 137 and 138 (for CIFS)
TCP 139 and 445 (for CIFS)
UDP/TCP 111 (for rpcbind) - This port is optional. It is used for service discovery.
TCP 22 - This port is optional. It is used for Secure Shell (SSH).
The Velocity Cloud Console is accessed from app.veritas.com. The following ports are used for communication with the Velocity Cloud Console:
443 (SSL) - This port is used to communicate with the Velocity management services.
80 - This port is recommended, but not required. Any requests from port 80 are redirected to port 443.
If you have installed the NetBackup Client on your Oracle database server and the Velocity Storage Server to enable NetBackup backups to Velocity, the following ports are required:
TCP 1556 (for pbx_exchange)
TCP 13724 (for vnetd)
No inbound ports are required to be open on the host server where the Velocity Client is installed.
