Attachments
You can flag certain types of attachments. For example, picture (e.g., jpg), and sound (e.g., .wav) and movie (e.g., wmv) files that cannot be scanned for lexicon violations. By adding these types to the Attachments Editor, emails containing these attachment types are flagged for review.
The following list identifies which document types AdvisorMail can scan for keyword and phrase violations.
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Notepad
Microsoft WordPad
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Works
Microsoft PowerPoint
RTF (Rich Text Format)
Text-Only
MS-DOS Text
Encoded Text
Word for Mac
WordPerfect files
PDF (the non-image portion of PDFs)
CSV (Comma-separated values)
EML files (saved Outlook Express emails)
HTML
XML
AdvisorMail automatically strips potentially harmful attachment types (i.e., .exe files, .scr files, .bat files) from emails before they are archived. Attachments can also pose another threat - the loss of intellectual property. By flagging attachments within AdvisorMail, companies can detect and prevent the unauthorized use and transmission of confidential information.
